About This Trip

The 9-day tour itinerary will show you part of the Chinese culture. Begin your tour in Shanghai, where you will enjoy a leisurely walk in the Bund and appreciate the unique design of the Yu Garden. Take a visit to Qingdao to see how the Qingdao beer is processed, and then head to Weifang to learn about the history of Kite flying and observe different kinds of kites in its International Kite Festival. End your journey in Beijing with discoveries of the ancient Forbidden City and the splendid Great Wall.

Day 1: Arrival, Shanghai

After your flight lands at Shanghai airport, your private tour guide and driver will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. The remainder of the day will be arranged by yourself. You can just stay at the hotel or take some exploration nearby.

Day 2: Shanghai, the Bund & Yu Garden

After breakfast, the tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at the appointed time to start today's tour. Firstly, head for Shanghai Museum for tracing the past from its thousands of collections; then, move to Yu Garden and the bustling Yuyuan Market, a silk workshop, the former French Concession, and end today's tour with a stroll on the Bund.

Day 3: Fly to Qingdao, City Tour

Be transferred to the airport for flight to Qingdao City in the morning. On arrival, be picked up and met by your local guide before driving to Badaguan Area, which enjoys the reputation of "the Exhibition of International Architecture", Tsingtao Brewery Museum where you can observe the production process of Tsingtao Beer as well as taste fresh brew which is just off from the production line.

After that, continue to Xiaoyushan Park to get the best overview of Zhan Bridge, Small Qingdao Island, and other famous spots.

Day 4: Qingdao - Mt. Laoshan - Qingdao

Enjoy a tour to Mt. Laoshan, the highest mountain along China's 18,000-kilometer-long coastline and famous as the cradle land of Taoism. Overlook the beautiful mountain with sea views at Taiqing Palace. After that, drive back to the city of Qingdao in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Drive to Weifang, International Kite Festival

Drive about 2.5 hours to Weifang City, where is regarded as the birthplace of kites. After arrival, visit Yangjiabu Folklore Garden and enjoy Weifang International Kite Festival opening ceremony.

Day 6: Weifang International Kite Festival, Weifang - Beijing

Enjoy Weifang International Kite Festival and then be transferred to the railway station for high-speed train to Beijing. After arrival, your private tour guide will pick you up and escort you to the hotel.

Day 7: Beijing, Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City

Take a morning stroll on the Tiananmen Square, and then go through Tiananmen Gate to start your Forbidden City trip.

The Forbidden City is listed as a World Heritage Site for its world's largest collection of persevered ancient wooden structures. Move to the Summer Palace and enjoy a 15-minute boat ride on Kunming Lake afterward. End with visiting a pearl store.

Day 8: Beijing, Great Wall

After breakfast, visit the Temple of Heaven firstly where you can see and join the morning exercise with the locals. Later, set off to the magnificent Great Wall (Mutianyu section with round-way cable car) by car for about 1.5 hours and you can do some light hiking on the Great Wall to enjoy the majestic scenery. Pay a visit to a jade gallery and the Sacred Road afterwards before driving back to the city.

Day 9: Beijing, Departure

Feel free to enjoy some leisure time before leaving for the airport with your guide and driver to take your flight home. Have a pleasant trip!

Second Honeymoon My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary by spending a few weeks touring around Asia. We loved how Odynovo worked with us to craft a tour of what we wanted to see and how we wanted to see it. This was our first time traveling with a private tour guide, and it was truly amazing. they took care of all transportation, tickets, and everywhere we went we had someone who not only spoke our language, but was also very well-versed in the places we were visiting. We saw Beijing and then took a bullet train to Xi'an. In both cities we had tour guides who had done this "a thousand times," and as a result knew all the tricks on where to take the best pictures, what lines to stand in, where to eat, and what not to waste your time seeing. At one point our guide pulled out ponchos from her backpack when it started to rain, while another helped us haggle for a good price on a new suitcase. We were surprised by how much we loved China, and it is safe to say that is because of the quality of service we got from Odynovo. Oh, and the hotels were great, too! In our first hotel my wife fell in love with her breakfast soup that she had to have every morning, while in Xi'an we were right around the corner from the Muslim Night Market and were able to get to it in less than 5 minutes of walking.We are already looking to see what tours we will be doing next through Odynovo, as the service was amazing, the quality was remarkable, and the cost was very worth it for what we received.

Fabulous! We had a fabulous experience with our guide and Odynovo walking the Great Wall of China, and all other sites in Beijing. We loved our Peking duck dinner. It was fabulous. Thank you, Sammie/Jing for a great experience.

Beijing Beauty It started off with a friendly face at the airport, with Roy, our tour guide.The week has been such a pleasure and a treat. From adventures to The Great Wall, Temple of Heaven and the Forbidden City, to local markets, delicious Beijing food and roof top tea houses.Roy and our driver, Mr. Zhou, were prompt in picking us up and driving us around safely.The knowledge and fact about history and Beijing that Roy knows and explains is amazing and the fact he could answer my weird and inquisitive history questionsnwoth ease was a treat.He made it so easy to enjoy ourselves and absorb all that was around us, he even takes great photos too! 😊Polite, kind and thoughtful and ever patient in letting us take our time with things that interested us.I would highly recommend this tour and Roy again and again.

Amazing travel experience My name is Zarah M. Babangida a Nigerian and i visited Beijing with my colleagues from the office. During our 5 day stay in Beijing, Ms. Eva Ma, was our Tour guide and from the minute we came through the Arrival Gate of the Airport, we were embraced by her alluring smile and warm welcome. She remained consistent with her warmth, a kind and intelligent professional who exuded unique passion not just for her job as a tour guide but, even more so as a proud Chinese woman. Her outstanding insight and knowledge of the sweet Chinese history and heritage left us in awe. I couldn't be more proud and thankful that she was assigned to our group and she made our stay exciting, fun-filled effortless and knowledge packed. I absolutely commend her dedication to work which she depicted throughout our stay. I recommend her to every visiting tourist because to know Eva, is to love her.
