Day 1: Xi'an, Arrival

Welcome to Xi'an, the eastern starting point of the Silk Road!

With thousands of years of history, this city is often called a living history museum. Upon your arrival in Xi'an, a local guide will pick you up and escort you to your hotel safely. After checking in, you can take a short rest, and if time permits, explore the nearby night market to sample some street food.

Day 2: Terracotta Warriors & Bronze Chariots

After breakfast, drive about an hour to the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, where you'll explore the Terracotta Warriors Museum. This site reveals three burial pits, each showcasing different types of terracotta figures—generals, soldiers, and charioteers—all with unique postures and expressions. The army stands in a powerful, orderly formation, evoking a sense of awe. Don't miss the museum's crown jewel, the bronze chariots. Their intricate details, from the adornments to the reins, vividly bring to life the charioteer guiding four horses from over two thousand years ago.

Return to the city and enjoy the dazzling Great Tang All Day Mall, where Tang Dynasty architecture blends with modern structures. Under brilliant lights, encounter actors in traditional costumes and marvel at live performances, including the enchanting never-falling performers.

In the morning, you will step onto the ancient City Wall, which has stood for over 600 years. Stroll along the wall, absorbing its rich history, or choose to cycle around it, taking in panoramic views of this city that once served as the capital for thirteen dynasties.

Next, visit a local home in Xi'an and join the host in preparing a sumptuous lunch. You can try making noodles, wrapping dumplings, or learning to cook authentic local dishes under the host's guidance.

After a hearty meal and a brief rest, you'll visit the Gao Family Courtyard to enjoy traditional shadow puppetry and experience the art of Chinese calligraphy. Then, take a leisurely walk at the Muslim Quarter, lined with hundreds of snack stalls. Today, embark on a four-hour drive to the Hukou Waterfall for an adventurous experience. Here, the mighty Yellow River, spanning hundreds of meters wide, suddenly narrows and plunges into a deep stone trough, creating a spectacular waterfall. In this kettle-shaped canyon, you'll witness the roaring torrents up close, with splashing waves and mist filling the air, offering an intense and immersive encounter with the river's power.

After lunch, you'll leave Shaanxi Province and drive for about two hours to reach Shanxi Province, home to 27 filming locations featured in Black Myth: Wukong, and stay overnight in Linfen.

Day 5: Guangsheng Temple & Xiaoxitian Temple

This morning, follow in Wukong's footsteps and visit Guangsheng Temple. The Upper Temple features the multi-colored glazed pagoda, a majestic structure that has withstood wars and natural disasters. Additionally, the temple houses the Zhaocheng Jin Tripitaka, a Buddhist encyclopedia that has made a significant impact on the academic world.

Next, travel about 150 kilometers to Xi County to visit the Qianfo Nunnery, also known as Xiaoxitian. Here, the cliff carvings and painted statues of Buddhas are renowned for their small size, delicate craftsmanship, and unique charm, with the suspended sculptures representing the pinnacle of this artistic form. Admire the well-preserved architecture along the Ming and Qing Street and experience the rich historical ambiance of local life. Try your hand at the traditional folk art of Pingyao paper cutting, where you'll appreciate the delicate craftsmanship and create your paper-cut work. Then, ascend the well-preserved Pingyao Ancient City Wall for panoramic views of the town, where the interplay between history and modernity comes to life.

Second Honeymoon My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary by spending a few weeks touring around Asia. We loved how Odynovo worked with us to craft a tour of what we wanted to see and how we wanted to see it. This was our first time traveling with a private tour guide, and it was truly amazing. they took care of all transportation, tickets, and everywhere we went we had someone who not only spoke our language, but was also very well-versed in the places we were visiting. We saw Beijing and then took a bullet train to Xi'an. In both cities we had tour guides who had done this "a thousand times," and as a result knew all the tricks on where to take the best pictures, what lines to stand in, where to eat, and what not to waste your time seeing. At one point our guide pulled out ponchos from her backpack when it started to rain, while another helped us haggle for a good price on a new suitcase. We were surprised by how much we loved China, and it is safe to say that is because of the quality of service we got from Odynovo. Oh, and the hotels were great, too! In our first hotel my wife fell in love with her breakfast soup that she had to have every morning, while in Xi'an we were right around the corner from the Muslim Night Market and were able to get to it in less than 5 minutes of walking. We are already looking to see what tours we will be doing next through Odynovo, as the service was amazing, the quality was remarkable, and the cost was very worth it for what we received.

Amazing travel experience My name is Zarah M. Babangida a Nigerian and i visited Beijing with my colleagues from the office. During our 5 day stay in Beijing, Ms. Eva Ma, was our Tour guide and from the minute we came through the Arrival Gate of the Airport, we were embraced by her alluring smile and warm welcome. She remained consistent with her warmth, a kind and intelligent professional who exuded unique passion not just for her job as a tour guide but, even more so as a proud Chinese woman. Her outstanding insight and knowledge of the sweet Chinese history and heritage left us in awe. I couldn't be more proud and thankful that she was assigned to our group and she made our stay exciting, fun-filled effortless and knowledge packed. I absolutely commend her dedication to work which she depicted throughout our stay. I recommend her to every visiting tourist because to know Eva, is to love her. If it were up to me, i will increase her bonuses or upgrade her salary as i am sure most tourists would want or revisit for her sake first and then perhaps other reasons.Thank you Eva and keep the passion up🙌.
